The exciting South African Day Northern Ireland is set to return this year soon. The event will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Holywood Rugby Club.
Every year, people gather to celebrate and share the wonderful Southern African culture and heritage. It’s always a fun-filled day as attendees meet some new and local South Africans in the area.
Last year, more than 1300 people attended the fantastic event. This year, the event intends to attract more people with great entertainment for all ages. There will be some live music from South African artists, with DJ Clint Carlson playing popular South African tunes.
There will be several amazing food and craft stalls with some ”lekker” South African food and cuisine, famous Hellbent boerewors rolls & burgers, biltong from local producers, plenty of South African goods, and some South African favourite desserts and products. In addition to the great food, the event will have some Hellbent wines and brandy, Castle Larger, and SA favourite brands for sale.
Children can expect loads of fun with six large bouncy castles, a massive assault course, a touch rugby tournament, face painting, and other fun activities.
Prior to the main event, there will be a special spitbraai dinner and dance on Friday, June 28, from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. for a limited number of 120 people and 30 children.
