A spot in Northern Ireland has been named one of the best 15 places in the world for stargazing.
Yahoo News reports that a new study has found that OM Dark Sky Park & Observatory in Davagh Forest is an ideal location for stargazing.
The study analysed global search data, Google reviews, and AllTrails scores for over 122 DarkSky parks to find out which parks worldwide provide the best experience for stargazers.
The Observatory came in at number 11 on the list. Offering a unique glimpse at the night sky, this spot lets you explore the seven mystical circles, 10 rows of stones, and 12 cairns that make up the Beaghmore Stone Circles.
Summer solstice (20 June) has special significance for us – from what may have been the first observatory at Beaghmore Stone Circles, which many believe was built over 3500 years ago to align with the sun during the solstice & start of summer, to our modern day version at Davagh. pic.twitter.com/ANmKJ87uxD

Located in County Tyrone, this extraordinary, first-of-its-kind attraction lets you observe the Northern Irish sky through super-powerful telescopes. If you are lucky, you can also see a rare but well-known phenomenon in NI: the Northern Lights or the aurora borealis. This natural phenomenon manifests itself as coloured lights in the night sky.
The observatory opened in 2020 and is built in the middle of Davagh Forest, NI’s only international Dark Sky Park. The dark sky in the park means there is little light pollution and a crystal clear view of the stars, making the observatory ideal for stargazing.
